Monday--on the beach

Almost to the coast, but first we needed some lunch. We stopped at this cute restaurant in Wheeler? called Cow Belles or something like that. It was perfect for us because the menu was very kid-friendly, the dining room was open and roomy, the bathroom was clean, and there was a play area set up in the corner.


We made it! Cannon Beach, Haystack Rock at low tide.








On the go constantly.

Tuesday morning-- berries

Our last day with Erica and Carter, boo hoo! It was a great run while it lasted. No summer trip to the Willamette Valley is complete without a trip to a berry patch, so here we are at Rowell Bros on Scholls Ferry:


My favorites were the Willamette Red raspberries, small and bright and perfect for jam. Or raspberry-rhubarb pie, as the case was.


James is a Jedi knight, not sure which one though.


All done picking berries, and all done with our adventures with Erica and Carter. Until next time!

Fourth of July parade

Every year we look forward to the Hillsboro 4th of July parade. The kids decorate our wagon, not to be in the parade but instead to make our own parade as we walk to our spot on Main Street. This year we added a DOG to our parade! Now we just need to bring Cisco and we will have a real dog & pony show.


Our spot, at Maureen and Smiley's house. They are so nice to keep hosting us year after year! There are even stories from before I came in the picture, when Marcus lead the HilHi band in the parade. He would stop the band to play a song at this very spot!
