We have been having a lot of quail visitors lately, and one made it into the garage. Marcus had to catch it with a fishing net:





Don't worry, it flew away unharmed. Catnip the outdoor cat wasn't happy though. She thought this was her snack.

Late summer culinary delights

Impromptu family dinner last weekend. We brought a heirloom tomato and goat cheese tart:

Plant identification class

Another field trip: a homeschool friend, who's dad is a landscaper, hosted a plant identification class at her house.





Nicole brought Emmett along too, although it soon became clear that the class was geared more towards the 10-14 year-old set. That was ok, the little ones just played and had a great time!

Late summer happenings

I guess technically it's fall, but still seems like late summer. Here is one of my favorite spots of our house:


Little guy is so sweet and peaceful in the morning, makes me want to stay in bed!
