Happy Birthday Ding Dong!

On Wednesday we celebrated Gemma's 2nd birthday! First we had a small "party" for Gemma and James when James' friends came over to play for their weekly playdate:

I made black-bottom cupcakes (chocolate cake with a chocolate-chip cheesecake top/center), yummy. Eliot was over, too, like every Wednesday (we have a playdate with her and take her to RE) and Emmett joined in the celebration.

After dance classes we invited Aidan and Lukie over for dinner and cupcakes before I would take them all to RE. (having the new van is so much fun!)

Big two-year-old!

Gift from grandma and grandpa:

She loves her new Crocs!

  1. Happy Birthday, Ding Dong! How wonderful to have so many celebratoins, I guess everyone really likes her :-)

Who are James's friends, tell us more! I don't know much about the kids's friends, how they meet them and how much they hang out, etc.

  2. Yes everyone does like Ding Dong (or "Do Do Baby," which came about because she always wants to get into a room with a closed door...do do baby translates into "open the door for baby").

James meets with Dominic and Gavin every Wednesday, usually at Dominic's house down the road and sometimes here or at Gavin's up the hill. I met Dominic's mom through our homeschool group, and she knew Gavin's family who also homeschools (but not with our Catholic group). They play Legos, Star Wars, and outside before James and Dominic go to dance at 5pm. They all love it! Sometimes us moms have a playdate to but it's hard since I have 2 kids younger, and they don't. Also we have Eliot over on Wednesdays which we love.
