At the county fair

After church a few Sundays ago, we went to the fair! It is a free fair, the perfect price :o) and couple that with on-street parking and free ride certificates (library summer reading program), we have ourselves a day full of fun for not that much money. First stop, the poultry barn:

Pigs were fun to watch. I told the kids that grandpa used to have a pig farm and they were amazed.

We stopped by a show were the kids were the stars! This was a lot of fun for them. Of course Bunny got to be a chicken:

Sedric was impressed with the talent onstage:

"What's your name?" "Mariposa." "Do you know what that means in Spanish?" "No."

The reptile tent was fun:

After looking at the RVs and deciding which one we would buy...maybe THIS is the year...we looked at all the tractors:

On to the rides! We have a rule to skip rides at the county fair and instead do rides at the state fair, but with our summer reading coupons they each got to choose two!

Bye, county fair! See you next year!

  1. Sedric is soooo handsome--he looks just a bit like the other kids but also very different! I guess that's true of all of them.

Love Gemma 's dress, did you make it?

Does Mariposa really not know what her name means in Spanish, or was she just nervous?

  3. Yes Sedric is a handsome boy. :o). I am a lucky mommy.

Mariposa's grammae got her that dress from a craft bazaar. Isn't it cute? It's called a petal dress because the skirt has pieces that look like petals.

And yes Mariposa knows what her name means, she was just shy and I don't think she understood the question because she was too shy to listen closely and actually look at the lady when she was talking to her. Ha ha ha!

Ps-- to Joe-- a ferris wheel can be a very romantic place to propose... ;o)
