The rest of our NYC experience

We left Macy's and walked towards the library. I loved my visit there this morning so much, I wanted to share the experience with Marcus. In this picture, the Empire State Building is in the background:

I told you these lions were made from Lego bricks! Marcus thinks that James could do better, though.

Marcus liked seeing the library. We don't know why we didn't see it during our last visit. He liked seeing all the encyclopedias in different languages, and the paintings in the laptop study room. And he was the one to notice the Empire State Building, all lit up for Christmas, through the window:

Next we walked to Rockefeller Center like the night before.

We wanted to see the Bubble and Snowflake show at Saks Fifth Avenue.

"Across 49th Street, Saks Fifth Avenue (611 5th Ave., saksfifthavenue.com) has attracted crowds since 1949. This year, vignettes in 12 windows tell the story, "Who Makes the Snow," in which a young girl looks for the source of bubbles and snowflakes. The displays also include one-of-a-kind fashions by 10 designers.

The story comes to life on the store's façade each night with The Snowflake and the Bubble light show, which runs two minutes and can be seen every 15 minutes from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m."

As we walked down the VERY busy streets, we loved seeing more window displays. This was a tiny window with little (fake) mice dressed up as performers:

This store had really elaborate windows, really crazy designs:

Central Park was our next stop. It was 6pm and we were getting a little tired so we welcomed a nice rest on a park bench:

This was our view:

And we even saw some native wildlife:

The rat didn't cause us to lose our appetite, though...in fact we thought he was pretty cute. He could've put on a little costume and joined the dancing mice in the store window.
After our short rest we walked back into town to find an "authentic" New York deli for dinner. We decided on Stage Deli, which is a 70-year institution on 7th...

...and ordered a triple-decker pastrami, corned beef and Swiss sandwich to share, with a side of onion rings. We were so stuffed we had to order our New York cheesecake to go.

After dinner we walked straight down Broadway and through Times Square back to our hotel. We are so old; we were "home" by 8pm. We need to wake up early for our flight tomorrow, then we will really be home! Can't wait to see the kids!

BTW Marcus, did you have any pudding skin singles to go along with your pastrami???
