Visit to Macy's

Marcus got back from his meeting at 2pm and within 20 minutes we hit the streets again for more adventures. We walked south towards Macy's to see the magic, but I had not eaten lunch yet so we stopped at a cheapo pizza shop for a great $1.50 slice of mushroom pizza.

It was good pizza! And we got our authentic New York experience.

Here is Marcus in front of Macy's. This is the flagship store and even though headquarters are now in Cincinnati, the executive offices are still located here.

The window displays were beautiful! They were all automated and music played out to the people on the sidewalk.

The inside of the store was just as wonderful. This Macy's is actually the "world's largest store" with more square footage than the Empire State Building!

We rode on the original wooden escalators:

Santaland was on the 8th floor. Marcus said that two years ago when he was here for work, his group got to meet Santa! But for us on this trip, the line was over an hour long so we had to tell the elves to put in a good word for our kids.

More Christmas displays were on the 9th floor.

On our way out we saw Mrs. Claus! She promised us that she would tell her husband how great our kids have been, and that they deserve lots of toys this year.
