Bunny loves this picture she drew for science (she has been learning about birds and has been drawing state birds all year...she was so happy to get to "the chicken"!):


Last week the wise and wonderful Hannah showed the kids how to build a fort using the trimmed hazelnut branches:


(Hannah is my friend's 18-year-old daughter who lives down the street. We hired her to come over 4 days a week for 3 hours in the mornings to help with Gemma while I do school and chores. James and Mariposa are done with school so they have been hanging out with Hannah and Gemma this past week. Hannah is wonderful! She has a quiet demeanor and is so kind and gentle with Gemma, and she knows just what to do to keep Gemma occupied and happy. We are really really lucky to have her at our home these past few months, and are hoping she changes her mind about going to college in the fall....).
