Day 2--up north

Day 2 (July 3rd)--woke up in the hotel and gathered our stuff into the van and the Jeep, all ready for our 4ish hour trip up to Alpena, MI.

breakfast at Big Boy

Uncle Joe flew in from Denver, got in about midnight and
stayed in the hotel with mom and dad.

You're right, Aunt Christine!  LL Bean backpacks!  Except
Sedric's--it's a smaller Nike one.  This picture doesn't show
Bunny's new blue LL Bean, and my magenta one.  The
backpacks held all the kids' personal stuff (toys, books, etc.).

On the road, lunch in Standish, MI at an Arby's.
(I always crave Arby's when I am pregnant!!!!)

After checking in at mom and dad's new
home in Alpena, we went to the CC's house
for a wonderful chili dinner with homemade
str/rhubarb pie for dessert.  YUMMMM!!

Beautiful double rainbow over Lake Huron.

Blair Street Pier--at the end of mom and dad's
