The other project we wanted to have done this summer is to makeover the lower lawn by the play structure. It's been plain lawn for a few years now, and Marcus hates mowing it :o) so he was all for the plan to take out the grass. I thought we could expand the bark-chip area and make a small balance beam (kids love balance beams!) and also add a small Japanese-style garden. The guys were hard at work removing all that grass and starting the patio for the Japanese garden:
